Cerakote Facts
"Independent laboratory tests concluded that Cerakote firearm coatings outperformed Teflon-based coatings by more than 60%. With self-lubricating elements, unmatched hardness and the unique backbone structure, these coatings outlast and protect in order to maintain the value, precision and operational integrity of weapons and their accessories."

Taber Abrasion Testing*
*Taber abrasion testing performed by Anachem Laboratories, Inc. El Segundo CA
Taber abrasion testing was performed to compare the wear resistance of Cerakote© H-146 Graphite Black to the products two competitors. This testing was performed by an independent testing facility and according to ASTM Standard D4060-01. Each coating was applied to a set of stainless steel panels according to the anufacturers’instructions. A CS-17 taber abrasion wheel with a 1000 g weight was used for the abrasion testing.
Corrosion
Corrosive salt spray testing showed that Cerakote can protect steel 50 times better than competitive firearm coatings. Cerakote salt spray testing is performed using a steel substrate to simulate real world application instead of using aluminum or Parkerizing.

Flexibility + Durability

*Tested according to ASTM D522
Wear Cycles
Testing Performed by an independent military approved testing facility* proved that Cerakote is 7.5 times more wear resistant than ANY other firearm coating.

Taber abrasion is an approved ATSM method which is used to determine the wear resistance of coatings by rotating an abrasive disk on the surface of coated substrate.
